Hi

I am simulating a steady supersonic free jet and was considering the initial conditions. I was considering fixing the boundary condition at the nozzle exit. The relevant values for a given stagnation pressure and temperature and nozzle geometry can be calculated using the isentropic relations. The remaining flow field is at ambient conditions. However, this assume a discontinuity across the nozzle exit - like a psuedo shock - so how realistic is the solution then?

Regards
