Can Fluent solve for the boundary layer between a fluid and a porous medium?
The goal is to model boundary layer suction on an airfoil. I have thought of using porous media to model the perforated section of the airfoil as a momentum sink. Will Fluent resolve the wall shear stresses at the air porous medium interface? |

It's been a while since I have done any porous media modeling in Fluent, but in order to use Fluent's porous media model, but you have to know some variables in order to do so - inertia coefficient, Forchheimer, maybe one more. Fluent's manual goes thru it quite well, but I had to actually run a lab experiment to get some of the variables.
