for the first tutorial problem: Cavity case
if its a 3d problem, then what i will do? if the top wall is cool wall, bottom wall is the heated wall, and other wall are adiabatic, then what I will write the boundary condition? I am talking about blockMeshDict entries. Please give me suggession. |

your boundary conditions are set in the accompanying 0 folder. on the other hand. in order to solve for temperature as well, you will need to set a different solver. the best way to start this endeavour is to look at all the other tutorials that are provided. in case of the temperature, look at the heat transfer tutorials. select your solver from this list -> http://www.openfoam.com/features/standard-solvers.php , according to what you want to solve. take a look at the solver and start from there. most of the tutorials are in 3D, so you will also see how to treat this then.

Dear friends, In OpenFOAM, first tutorial is on "Cavity". If I run this problem, I got the results of P and U. If I consider that top moving wall is the heated wall and other walls are the cold wall, then what will be the boundary condition that I will write.
If I calculate the temperature inside the cavity, which solver I will use, and how I will add the solver? Actually, I want to add energy euqation with the continuity and momentum equns. So, I will get the value of T as well as P and U. Please any one help me. Please... Thanks for your reply. |

I will use the solver "scalarTransportFoam". But how? How I will add this to cavity problem so that I will able to calculate the temperature.
