jasxxx is on a distinguished road
hi
i'm relatively new to CFD & openfoam.
i'm looking for a GUI pre- & post- processor for windows (vista or windows 7, 32 or 64 bit).
needs to interface with openfoam.
don't need anything fancy, just mesh flow in pipes with refined boundary layer region for
predicting pressure losses, etc using openfoam.
also must be able to import the initial CAD data probably in parasolid, STL or IGES formats.
also something which has reasonably good documentation, examples, tutorials, etc.
so far after reading this & other forums my best bet would be:
1. salome
2. gmsh
from my understanding, the following would be interesting, but are for linux only?
3. engrid - seems good for prism layers
4. netgen
5. Helyx-os
6. snappyhexmesh - has no GUI? although maybe i can use blender/swiftsnap/snappyhexmesh combination,
but i hav'nt really understood how this works yet?
any advice, hints, other software, etc would be welcome.
thanks
jas
