Dear all,
I try to simulate wind flow throung a sing building in OpenFOAM, in order to save some running time, I simulate it as a 2D case. However, the snappyhexMesh is not applicable in 2D simulation because it will not only refine in x and y direction, but also in z direction, there make my blockMesh has more then one layer of cell in z direction, do someone have some tool for 2D snappyHexMesh? Or do someone have idea for my question? Thx, wind_FYP |

Perhaps you could snappyHexMesh your geometry and then use extrudeMesh to extrude one layer from the surface representing your 2D geometry. Just keep the layer.

But can you tell me how to use 'extrudeMesh ' in detail, because I have not used before. wind_FYP |

Hi Wind_fyp,
Did you get your job working? I'm in the same position and am wondering what the best approach is. There seems to be a distinct lack of two-dimensional snappyHexMesh posts! Cheers, Mark. |
