Hi,

the utility patchAverage gives you the average of each velocity component Ux, Uy and Uz.
To obtain these components from the vector U: foamCalc components U
Then you calculate the average on one patch with the patchAvearge utility.
patchAverage (U component) (patch name) -time (time directory you are interested in)

Hope it can help you

Eric

Hi Guys,

Is there any way to find average velocity from sampled data. I need to do this because of two reason.
  1. My sampled data is not for a patch. I am sampling data for a plane
  2. I want to convert sampled data to cylindrical co-ordinate and then calculate average of velocity in cylindrical coordinate
Thanks in advance
Subodh
