To obtain these components from the vector U: foamCalc components U Then you calculate the average on one patch with the patchAvearge utility. patchAverage (U component) (patch name) -time (time directory you are interested in) Hope it can help you Eric utkunun likes this.

I need to do this because of two reason. My sampled data is not for a patch. I am sampling data for a plane I want to convert sampled data to cylindrical co-ordinate and then calculate average of velocity in cylindrical coordinate Thanks in advance Subodh
