Hi All,

Recently I have been playing with fieldAverage function in OpenFOAM. Mean value and RMS value will only be saved when data is saved. I was just wondering whether the mean value is calculated based on the previous data that has been saved or based on the data of each time step. For example, if I save data at every time step or every 10 time steps, will the mean and prime2Mean value be the same at the same time instance.

Hope anyone can help. Thank you very much.

Best regards,
Tony

Anyone has idea about this? Saving data at each time step would take too much space, but I don't know whether writing interval will affect the average result or not.
