Hi everyone,
I'm running foamLog on a simpleFoam log file, and I'm getting the following error message when running on my Mac Pro workstation running OSX 10.5. Executing: awk -f ../kE/logs/foamLog.awk log awk: ../kE/logs/p_2 makes too many open files input record number 39, file log source line number 73 If I reproduce the solution on our Linux cluster, there is no problem. Any ideas on why this is happening, and how to fix it? Eric |

What happens if before running foamLog you issue the command
limit descriptors unlimited ? I do not have a working setup on 10.5, so can't try right now, but I suspect this has something to do with the limits set. HTH Michael |

The solution to this problem is to use /opt/local/bin/gawk instead of /usr/bin/awk. This requires that gawk be installed using MacPorts, and that foamLog be modified (replace awk with gawk).
