Dear all,

I am trying to simulate a 2d droplet with external force applied in one particular region in zero gravity. A sketch is attached. I am using interFoam for this purpose.
To apply the force, I assumed funkySetFields is a good option and used it to generate higher pressure in the region that I am interested (0.4<y<0.6).

The command line is as follow:
funkySetFields -fields p_rgh -expression 10 -time 0 - keepPatches -condition"pos().y>0.4 && pos().y<0.6"

However, there is not any significant deformation of the droplet in this region. So I am not sure if this is the correct approach. I would be grateful if you can help.

Best,
Shayan

Hi there,

So the question was why despite changing the pressure in the initial condition, the solution in later times does not change.

The answer is in every loop pressure is recalculated based on velocity, so even though in the first time step pressure is non-uniform, in the next one it becomes uniform.

At the end, I was able to make the change via initial condition on velocity.

Hope this helps.
