# Manipulate thermophysical properties with swak4foam?

 December 9, 2015, 08:34 Manipulate thermophysical properties with swak4foam? #1 New Member   Join Date: Sep 2014 Posts: 26 Rep Power: 3 Hi is it possible to manipulate thermophysical properties with swak4foam? I calculated a temperature dependent viscosity and used the manipulateField function to write the result to "thermo:mu". The problem is that the solver does not use the new thermo:mu for its calculations. Is there a way to do that?

Polynomial would only work with a piecewise definition, what is, as far as I know, not possible with existing OF functionality. What I need is a piecewise definition or alternatively a table where the values are interpolated. Both is possible in swak4foam, what I don't know is, if it's possible to provide the calculated value to the solver. Greetings Tobi

The polynomial transport lies here: src/thermophysicalModels/specie/transport/polynomial/polynomialTransport.H src/thermophysicalModels/specie/transport/polynomial/polynomialTransport.C Probably you can change the code to your needs. I'd say this is the real OpenFOAM masters way
