Hello,

I'm trying to set up a chtMultiRegionFoam case where there are solid-solid interfaces. The tutorial cases (such as the snappy) all interfaces use "type compressible::turbulentTemperatureCoupledBaffleMix ed" even there's no fluid flow on either side (for solid-solid interfaces). I was able to run the case like that (with "kappa solidThermo"), and the results look reasonable; but I still feel a bit unsettling about the type name or whether there is a better bc type to use. Could any know-better user explain whether this is the correct way to set up my case? Thanks.

James

The name is a bit confusing, but you have the power to look into the code!
https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...hScalarField.C

You can see there is nothing specific to solid or liquid there. All it does is make sure the values and the fluxes on both sides of the patch are consistent.

Thank you, Anton. I guess this is the only type of bc to use for coupling interfaces with the chtMultiRegionFoam solver. I can see that you are very knowledgeable. Is there any other type choices (just wondering)?

If I want to simplify my model by just solving the heat conduction in multiregion solids (without solving the fluid flow part) and apply a heat flux bc at the solid-fluid interface with specified heat transfer coefficient h (such as h*(T-Ta) where Ta is a specified temperature in the fluid), what bc type should I use and how to set it in the T dict in 0/ ?
