Hi everyone !

I am pretty new with OF and I am interested in the wall film modelisation (for a single component in a cylinder).

I was looking at some litterature about the physical phenomenon of the wall film in general and also how to express it mathematically in order to make the link with the code written in OF.

My starting point to understand the wall film modelisation was the Hot boxes tutorial, using the solver reactingParcelFilmFoam.

I was looking at the code, trying to make the link between the mathetical formulas that describe this physical phenomenon (continuity equation and so on, Weber number...) and the written code.

That's how I have fallen into 2 different classes (thermoSingleLayer and ThermoSurfaceFilm) and I don't understand what is the difference between them. thermoSinglerLayer is used in "surfaceFilmProperties" whereas ThermoSurfaceFilm is used in "reactingCloud1Properties".

Are they both involved into the wall film modelisation ? Or only one of them ?
As far as I can understand the code, to me, ThermoSurfaceFilm modelises the parcel-wall interaction (Absorb/Rebound/Splash) and the thermoSinglerLayer solves the continuity/momentum/energy equation, so would it mean that they are complementary ?

And final question :
sprayFoam modelises the injection of spray parcels and doesn't include the library "surfaceFilmModel.H";
but what would happen if in the sprayCloudProperties I set the surfaceFilmModel from none to thermoSurfaceFilm ? Will it be considered that there is a wall film modelisation ? Or not at all ?

I'm not sure if I post in the right section.. sorry in advance if it's not the appropriated section!

Have a good day,

David.

PS : If you have some interesting litterature to advise me regarding the wall film modelisation, it would be kind of you!
