Dear Foamers,
I've been playing round with free surface flow in rivers. I want to set a an outlet (giving the pressure at the outlet) and the inlet velocity and then observe what happens with velocities and the water height during the course of the river. What I've used so far is interFoam (fairly good results, but not always stable and long calculation time) and potentialFreeSurfaceFoam. Of course, with potentialFreeSurfaceFoam I need transmissive BC's for the waves (I do not want to just extend my mesh), and I tried to use waveTransmissive BC for the pressure, but this did not work out so far. Could anyone tell me if waveTransmissive can be applied to potentialFreeSurfaceFoam (to incompressible flows in general) and if yes, what was your setting to get it correctly? Thanks and have a nice day, Benji PS: If desired, I'll upload my case here... |
