Hello,
I set up a case with icoFoam. There is no file "phi" in the folder 0. After running icoFoam the time folders contain a "phi" file. The units indicate a flux. If that is the case, why is it done? I mean, I already have the information about U, so I don't see the need for it since it has the mesh sizes. Thanks for your help Henning |

Phi contains face fluxes. At the start of the simulation, if not found, any solver computes it interpolating cell values to the face.
If you want to restart a simulation, however, is better to keep it. Hope this helps, Francesco |
