Why is a velocity field asked for when prescribing a pressure inlet? What is it for?

Best regards,

Hmm... how do you define your pressure inlet condition?

When pressureInlet is chosen in FoamX the resulting BC for U is pressureInletVelocity which calculates U from phi on the boundary, and fixedValue for p.

Anyway, you normally solve for U and p meaning that you'll need BC's for both on all boundaries, OF doesn't assume anything.

Hope it's a bit clearer.
