So the resident memory is similar, 18M serial, 17M in parallel. The virtual memory goes up to 306M. Something seems to allocate a lot of memory which isn't used - can't think of anything in OpenFOAM. Do you get the same on other cases / other solvers?

I will try with other solvers to see if there is any difference.
However, you say that the resident memory is similar for serial and paralle computation (18M serial, 17M parallel), but actually in parallel is almost double (2 processes of 17M). Did I miss something in your counting? Dragos |
