Hello Everyone,

I am trying to simulate smoke flow inside a room with a exhaust and a pressure inlet. I had implemented the problem on fluent earlier now, while working on OpenFOAM, I am facing difficulties in selecting a solver. From the user guide I have selected buoyantFoam as my base solver. To add other species I learned that I have make few modifications similar to those in scalarTransportFoam. As I am new to this environment I am having hard time to figure out what to do next. Can I find any suggestions?

Thanks
Prashant

Hello Prashant

A good starting point is to read both the User and the Programmer guides, and look around the OpenFOAM wiki: http://openfoamwiki.net

Then, you should also search this message board for your particular problem. I am quite sure that your question has already been discussed in other threads.

Regards,
José Santos

hi,

i guess foam is the right tool for almost every problem but a look at www.fire.nist.gov/fds/ could be worth it...(just in case you are not already using fds)

regards
