Dear Foamer,
Just, I'm trying to run the normal channel395 tutorial with pimpleFoam solver but I changed the inlet to be turbulentInlet and the outlet to be zeroGradient in 0/U file and the 0/p as well. but the problem that I got the attached velocity profile , it's supposed to be parabolic shape as I know but here it's not like that. Could you please if you know where is the problem can you tell me? ThanksvelocityProfile.png |

Hi,
what were the initial BC at the inlet and outlet? Normally, if you want to have a developed profile, or you use a very long channel, or you use cyclic BC |

Hi Agustin,
my intial B.C as I wrote before for the inlet (turbulent inlet with velocity of 0.1335m/s and zeroGradient for pressure) and at the outlet (waveTransmissive for pressure and zeroGradient for velocity) both sides are cyclic. On the other hand I need just to study the transition so no need for developed flow. B.R |

Hi
you would see transition after a while, at a certain distance from your inlet. Maybe your domain is not long enough, and you dont see the desired profile |

Hi,
I think, I didn't show my problem well. The problem with me the velocity profile in the start of the laminar region at the start of the channel not after transition as I showed in the 1st . On the other hand, my channel Dimensions are taken from previous DNS study. Thanks |
