Hi,
I would like to merge two connectors by picking each of them (I need to script it later) but I'm not sure how to "pick them"... I would like to use: Grid - Merge - Merge by picking - replace first with second. Unfortunately i can't pick the second or even pick both of them. The only thing I can do is "merge pairs of entities" with a special tolerance. But this is not very nice for scripting because i need to choose from a list and this might cause problems. Why do i need to merge them - I created a periodic domain by rotating an existing domain around the center. maybe someone can help me with this (i would be very happy about a link to the command - i couldn't find it in http://www.pointwise.com/glyph2/file...Glyph-cxx.html) Thanks a lot. Hello Vanessa,
Two answers for you: 1) Be careful about merging connectors that are part of a periodic domain, as this may break the periodicity. 2) The merge by picking can be scripted with the "replace" command in a merge mode. http://www.pointwise.com/glyph2/file...Merger.replace. 2a) If you know how to do something in the GUI and would like to find the Glyph command, you can enable journaling in the message window (Right click in the message window, go to preferences, and click on Journaling). Journaling will echo all of the glyph commands to the message window, which can be very useful for finding the commands. Keep in mind though that these echoed commands will have a good number of temporary variables, so I wouldn't recommend using the journal as a script directly. If you are still having merging issues, there may be another setting to investigate, but I'll wait for your feedback on this approach first. John |
