I just looked at gambit and under faces submenu I just have the option : MOVE/COPY/ALIGN but this is not really an extrusion. Is this this option you are referring to?

Just a question : you're talking about 'extruding' in gambit... Is there a way to really extrude a 2D geometry into a 3D automatically in...

I think one way is to modify the file "Points"...

I think one way is to modify the file "Points" located in your case/constant/polyMesh directory and changing the third coodinates of the points to be the depth you want.

I'm interested in this too and I still haven't find an answer.

I suppose we should look at the code ... but I'm working on a network and I can't modify such files so is there an other way to do...
