decomposePar: can use this decomposition method only for the whole mesh

When using decomposePar in OpenFOAM-1.6-ext (also in OpenFOAM-1.6.x), I get the following error:

--> FOAM FATAL ERROR:
Can use this decomposition method only for the whole mesh
and supply one...
