Yes, it is possible but you then have to use general mesh motion. You cannot model translation with rotating frames of reference.

Moving mesh allows any mesh motion. Rotating mesh only allows rotating motion, which I guess could be considered a sub-set of moving mesh.

The two options you refer to are for rotating frame of reference simulation. You are looking for moving mesh, that is different.

Look at the CFX tutorials for moving mesh examples, not rotating...
