I didn't know that. But in this way we are looking for accuracy at micron level, which may not be possible in actual geometry. isn't it?

Well CFD by nature is not smooth. That's why we call it dicretized solution as compared to exact solution.

split edge has nothing to do with smoothness. It all related to basic CFD
