Perhaps it is having a units problem. Is it actually scaling the model by 25.4? 150 inches becomes 3810 mm... The solution would just be to...

Different file types...

Do you mean the size of the workbench geometry file is larger than the IGES geometry file was?

They are different file types, and store different amounts of info per surface, etc.
