You don't have to be in the directory. But better...

You don't have to be in the directory. But better give the full path as argument to the -dir option...just in case there's another solver running

You can use the CFX command cfx5stop to stop the solver after the current iteration using:
cfx5stop.exe -dir <directory_path_where_solver_runs>

The path name of the current solver run usually...
