Hello everybody,
I am currently facing a problem which is confusing me a lot. I created a volume mesh but realized, that StarCCM also put volume mesh cells in my prism layer. See a picture below: Does anyone of you have'n idea how that could happen? Thanks in advance, Rene |

I think that your prism layer is too thick.
Prism layers are generated near the wall to solve near wall functions. There is a method to calculate the prism layer thickness using geometric progression. a=Y+ value r=layer growth Why not try to reduce the thickness first and increase the number of layers instead? just my 2 cents. |

Depends on Star version; 8.04 happened to have errors in meshing (some primitive geometry case) that 8.06 doesn't.
