Hi everybody,
My case: I have a system with an air bubble between water (on top) and glass (on bot). I put heat flux boundaries everywhere (top, sides, bot) and symetrie plane to reduce the domain. I have an heat source located on the middle of my domain just down the bubble. The baffle is conducting. This is Natural Convection only. I did: Steady Coupled flow/Energy Gravity Boussinesq Laminar All is working well, the Temperature/Velocity repartition are ok. Now I want to modelize the Surface Tension between the bubble and the water. So I tried Eulerian Multiphase, VOF and this is not working. ( There is no more convection ) Could you tell me how I can modelize this phenomen without changing my geometry. |

Hi
You shouldn't really be solving vof in the steady state. The Boussinesq approximation has not been coded in vof. You would need to solve compressible or code your own density = f(T). In the help somewhere it says that Marangoni force is not applicable when the surface tension is constant. There are some articles on the steve portal that are quite good describing natural convection flows. hope this helps allan |
