Hello everyone. I know it has been asked so many time about the difference between CCM+ and CD. However, I have did research and couldnt find answers for my questions. I am a uni student doing engine project. I have limited time and never used star ccm+ or star CD before (I used ANSYS). Therefore, I think its better to make sure pick the right one before I learn it. Ok. My question is:

will Star CCM+ able to do both steady simulation and unsteady simulation (moving piston and inlet valve) of engine inlet system and give results of tumble number (tumble energy, tumble momentum, tumble ratio etc). Also will it able to simulate fuel droplet under steady condition?

From research, people said the CCM+ is easier to use but it is not powerful as CD? Star CD is able to simulate combustion flame. (I dont need this for my project). Also some said CCM+ may has difficulty of moving mesh. It is not able to incease or reduce the number of element. are they right?

Thank you very much.
