Hi all,
In gambit/Fluent it is possible to create interior faces, is there a way to create these in starCCM WITHOUT having to use interfaces. Derived parts comes to mind, but i have not find a way to create a complex shape with these, or for that matter snap this to existing geometrie. regards, Bram |

Internally created derived 'section' parts can only be planes, cylinders, spheres, but you also have to option to have an arbitrary section - an imported surface as an STL file. This can be created internally say as an iso-surface, existing imported or remeshed surface etc then exported, or externally in your CAD system or STAR-Design.

Could I ask for a little more information? What is the purpose of the internal surfaces?

interior faces allow you to create faces that dont participate in the solution. this makes it very easy to switch on/off certain surfaces.
--> when testing narrowing of an orifice you dont need to mesh it all over again and so on... |
