Hi all,
I'm using Star CCM+ 4.02.11 on a linux server, which i access from an opensuse 11.1 platform, with ssh. The program runs correctly, except it crashes every time I try to open a scene (scalar or geometric). I used to have the same problem when I used a windows platform to access the server, and I thought switching to opensuse would solve the problem. Does anybody have an idea on how i can solve it? Thanks |

Which part of CCM+ crashes? Server or client process? I had a similar problem and it had to do with use of user defined coordinate systems. I recreated the scenes with laboratory coordinate system and everything was fine.
Probably 4.04 could help. It is already out, but I didn't test it until now. |

I think it's the client process: the scene window opens, but it only prints 'rendering scene' an remains stuck.
The scene is already defined with a laboratory frame. I precise that I am kind of new to star ccm+. |

StarCCM tends to be not to best in class when it comes to stability of its code. I frequently have to find workarounds to avoid deadlocking.
All in all its a nice piece of software, but they should make work of the sometimes frustrating craches |

Same problem I have when I make screenshots via the update function of the scene!
Disconnecting and reconnecting helps sometimes! |
