Hi all, i would like to know if its possible to export my Starccm+'s mesh into Fluent ??

I tried to export my current starccm mesh with in a ".case" format (which is the ENsight format) but when i try to import it with fluent, this fails with an "Null domain pointer" error

Do you have any idea ?

thx and sorry for my poor english

you can't, just run it in STAR-CCM+ or mesh your case in gambit or ansys mesher if you want to run it in fluent.

But its easier just to run it in CCM+.

Export your mesh to a ccm file. Read the ccm file into Prostar. From Prostar, export a NASTRAN formatted file. Read the NASTRAN deck into Fluent. (I'm assuming Fluent will read a NASTRAN formatted file.)

This will only work for a mesh with tetrahedral and/or hexahedral cells. It will not work for polyhedral cells.

I use this technique to get CCM+ generated tet meshes into Hypermesh.

Thx for your replies, i have been able to import my ccm mesh by converting it to openFOAM format, then to Fluent format....

I can now open my Mesh.msh file into fluent with the 3D parameter. (It fails with 2D parameter)

Here is my new problem : i work with 2D.

With starCCM+ i had to create first a 3D mesh then convert it to a "2D". I quote 2D because it's in fact a 3D mesh that starCCM+ interpret as a 2D mesh..

How can i convert my 3D mesh into a 2D mesh ??? The problem with fluent is that it wont open in 2D parameter and Gambit doesnt seem to open .msh files ....

Do you have any ideas ??

Sorry for my poor english again, and dont mind asking if you want more details.
thx
