Hi, everyone,
This is the first I post on this forum, wish there is somebody being able to help me solve my problem or providing some information. I used Star-CD version 3.22 in Windows XP 32-bits, and the moving mesh function is applied too. However, when the cells number of my model is closed to 2 or 2.3 million, the solver will shutdown and thus I can do my simulation. Is there anyone having this experience before or knowing what's maybe the reason? Hoping somebody can help me out, thx. BTW, did anyone use version 4.06 64-bits before? Is this version stable? Any information is welcome, thanks a lot. |

As a first guess I would assume that you have a memory problem. 2 million cells on a 32 bit system is a little large.
I have used 4.02, 4.04, 4.06, 4.08, 4.12 and 4.14. Usually 4.06 is ok, but I have not done any moving mesh problems. For some reason I have had problems reading a 3.15 mesh into 4.04. It gives me negative cells and a couple of real screwy cells. Supposedly this can be fixed using the ngeom command. Good luck. Tom |

Maybe the memory is not enough.
