Hello everyone!
Recently i have been using SU2(version 4.0.1) to run a parallel computation with 32 AMD cores(2.5GHz), and the grid size is about 10 million. However, i think the calculation speed is relatively slow(RANS, no MG, about 1000 steps per day). I am wondering if anyone has run a large-scale parallel computation with SU2? How about its efficiency? Is there anything i could do to improve the performance? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Hi ymc11,
You can check the compiler flags for optimizations (-O2, which is enabled by default). But I think you have to increase the number of cores. 32 is not enough for this grid size as AMD cores are rather slow (at least compared to Intel). |

Hi talbring,
Thanks for your reply. I checked the compiler flags and found that what i used was "-g".Then i built SU2 with compiler flags"-O3", and the computation is more than twice faster than before. However, as you said, i think the performance will be even better on intel cores. Thank you very much. It does help me a lot. |
