Position Profile:

Exa is seeking a mid to senior level Physicist to join its talented core Physics
Development team. This position offers an excellent opportunity and vantage
point to be exposed to the unique core technology of PowerFLOW,  Exa’s flagship
lattice Boltzmann based transient fluid simulation software. In this role, you
will be expected to have an in depth understanding of basic fluid flow physics
and numerical algorithms. You should be able to independently conduct physics
investigations, verify new physics models and numerical algorithms, identify
physics/simulator software issues, develop and implement numerical schemes, and
carry out certain basic physics research work. The successful candidate must be
talented and creative, with good physics and numeric instincts. The candidate
should also have effective interactions with other physicists, validation
engineers and software developers. 

Experience and Education:

•PhD in Physics, Engineering or equivalent field is required. 
•Multiple years of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) experience. 

•Strong background in fluid mechanics, CFD and numerical analysis.
•Solid knowledge in turbulence and compressible flow physics, as well as
multiphase fluid flows.
•Good understanding in kinetic theory and lattice Boltzmann methods (LBM).
•Strong independent problem-analyzing and problem-solving skills.
•Good computer skills (Linux, C++).
•Experience with scientific programming and knowledge of high performance
computing (HPC).
•Good team player, with good English communication skills.
