There are two positions available at TIFR-CAM.
Flow control: This project involves developing numerical methods and codes to perform flow control using
feedback theory for Navier-Stokes equations. You will develop finite element codes for solving Navier-
Stokes equations and implement feedback control strategies into them. A very good knowledge of FEM and
ability to write complex scientific programs is essential.
Discontinuous Galerkin Methods: This project involves developing finite element software based on
discontinuous Galerkin method for compressible flows using deal.II library. Hence good knowledge of C++
Finite element methods for incompressible/compressible Navier-Stokes equations
Experience in writing FEM programs in fortran or C or C++
Good knowledge of Unix and/or GNU/Linux
For Project assistant position: Must have masters degree in mathematics or engineering
For Postdoc position: Must have PhD degree in mathematics or engineering
Knowledge of discontinuous galerkin FEM
Knowledge of feedback control theory
Knowledge of python
Experience in working with Fenics finite element library
Experience in working with deal.II finite element library
The position will be initially given for one year with possibility of extending it for another year based on
