Hello to all,

I am using ICEM to create a mesh for Ansys Structural. I want to have SOLID186 (quadratic element) elements instead of the default SOLID185 (linear element) elements. In order to do that, I have used mid side node functionality in convert mesh type tab.

The output is O.K. and the mesh does seem normal. However, when I check Skewness quality in ICEM, I have so many low Skewness elements.

Skewness quality was O.K before adding mid side nodes.

Can ICEM calculate Skewness on quadratic elements?
Is it even relevant to check that after adding mid side nodes?

Best wishes
