I am trying to model wind turbine in CFX. During the run (first iteration), i am getting the error message:
Floating Point Exception: Overflow
What's wrong with my simulation??? Thank you

check your mesh again, this kind of error usually comes when during Pre-processing in CFX some wrong initial parameters are used....

Can you please give me more information about your work. Will see to it...

regards,
Tushar

hi:
i think think this error is due to the memory,,,try 64bit ansys...

smn is some what right....one of the reason i guess would be, you might have allocated less memory... Give it a parallel run, allocate more memory too... your problem will be solved definately....

regards..

Sorry but nobody has posted the correct answer here yet. Floating point exceptions are signs that your simulation has diverged big-time. Either the physics is wrong or the numerics are wildly unstable.

It has nothing to do with 32/64 bit.

hi,
Either your mesh quality or the physics must be wrong.please check it

Hi,

First you should check that the physics of your simulation are correct. It is common to fail to get convergence on something which is not physically possible.

After that is OK and you still have convergence problems then you should look into numerical reasons for the divergence. Read the documentation about "obtaining convergence". Mesh quality is one issue but there are many others.
