Hi,all,
I would like to generate the tetrahedral grid by using ICEM. My problem is I have a pair of periodic boundaries and the grid generated on these two boundary surfaces should be same. But I couldn't not find such kind of functions in ICEM to satisfy my requirements. I'm a beginner in using ICEM. Thank you for your help in advance. |

Hallo CG CHEN,
Go to Mesh ==> Global Mesh Setup ==> Global Mesh Parameters ==> Setup Periodicity. Good luck. Ahmad |

Thank you for your reply!
I found that function. But when I choose translational periodic, the only choice is "offset", I'm not sure if it is enough for set the periodic boundaries, for example, the computational domain is a cube and top and bottom surfaces are periodic. |

Hi guys,
I am new user in ICEM CFD meshing. I wanted to create a periodic triangular mesh in a 2D rectangle. I used "Mesh ==> Global Mesh Setup ==> Global Mesh Parameters ==> Setup Periodicity" and translational one and set the offset as size of rectangle. Now I have to define opposite edges to specify which edges should have periodic condition. I don't know how can I do that. I tried to create block but I don't know the different options over there. It would be appreciated if somebody could give me some hint to solve the problem or share a documents that could help me. Regards, Siroos |

Put this in the Meshing Forum?
Try putting the edges into parts. I think you can use those parts as the periodic choices. I dont work with 2D ICEM much, but works fine for 3D. |
