Can anybody tell me the best way to get high quality images from FIELDVIEW for reports and presentations. I have tried to do a screen capture and that produces poor quality images, I have also tried to export as a .jpg and while that is better than screen capture still not great. Thanks in advance!

1) for computer images, NEVER use jpg. JPG is for pictures taken with a digital camera. Use PNG images on computer images for best results (aka lossless) (Here is an example of why to use PNG: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Co...EG_and_PNG.png . The PNG is actually a smaller file size in this example, even though it is of higher resolution!) 2) In fieldview, go to the View menu and enable Presentation Quality 3) Play with you your lighting (View->Rendering options) 4) I personally take screenshots(Alt+PrintScreen) and paste them into MS Paint (remember to save as PNG!), I do not use fieldviews capture (Except for video) |

If you want to print the images a screenshot will look bad, due to the higher dpi requirements.
Instead increase FV_DPI value in the environment variables of Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8, 9, 10, 2022). If you set it to high Fieldview will crash or produce plain white images. My machine (12GB RAM) manages 720. 1. Save Image as eps or ps. 2. Print it using a virtual printer (PDF Creator or something) and save it as a PNG. |

Another method:
1. create empty text file 2. insert one line: SIZE 4000 4000 (can be any two dimensions) 3. save and rename the ending from .txt to .scr 4. load as screen restart 5. save PNG |
