Hello.
I am trying to do a simulation for a refrigerator. I have 8.7 millions of meshes created by ANSYS-Meshing by CutCell algorithm. The problem is the solution uses excessive memory. As far as I know, one million mesh uses about 1 gb, so the memory usage should not be more than about 10 gb, but it exceeds even 16 gb which is total memory installed on my computer. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance... Last edited by CaglarCoskun; May 7, 2012 at 19:10. |

Well, i guess it depends... my experience with a douple precision pressure-based solver is exactly that of 2Gb RAM/Mln cells for 3D unsteady LES computations. However, i heard that a lot is changing with the more recent versions, where actually it could be even worse
