How can I use Porous Media & VOF method together?

Hello all. I'm interested in model Vacuum Infusion Process by using Fluent Software. I have to model resin flow through porous fiber (composite panel). Some problems have occurred. The most important problem is when I use the VOF option; the porous zone option from flow boundary condition almost becomes inactive. So I can't determine viscous resistance and inertial resistance. Only fluid porosity option remains active. Please guide me to implement VOF and Porous Media together. When resin reaches to fiber, heat generation occurs. Another problem is how I can use heat generation. There is only a simple option in the source Terms. I would appreciate all the help I can get and make me able to solve these problems. Thank a lot.

If you use FLOW-3D (instead of Fluent) it is very very easy! I think you can setup this problem in a few minutes. It is born from VOF inventor (now they call their method TruVOF, as evolution of the VOF) and you can add as many porous obstacles as you want.

thank alot Stefano It seems that CFX can do it, I'm familiar whit CFX too, but I haven't got Flow 3D thank anyway

I have the same problem as you had before.did cfx work for your aim?
could you see the flow front of resin after solving it?
and as you know permeability is time and spatial dependent,how could you transfer it to cfx?
I m completely unfamiliar with cfx ,would you please give me some primary information about what you have done in cfx?

just found a book where the topic simulation of resin infusion in fibre material (RTM) with ansys CFX is described:

"Numerical Analysis of Heat and Mass Transfer in Porous Media"

you can have a first look on it using google books. It's starting at page 141

So, I wonder if the porosity of a medium is 0.4, will the maximum volume fraction (at each cell) of that phase will be 0.6?? If it is, does vof value 1 represents 100% compaction??
