Is there any optimisation tools on Fluent 5 ? (ex: Gradient methods underconstrained in multidimensions) Thank you for your help. Remy.

I think this tools are not available in Fluent. You can use power of Scheme language available in Fluent and write your own optimisation functions.
I'm runing Fluent optimisation with genetic algorithm where genetic algorithm is master program and Fluent(or Tgrid, preBFC etc.) is slave program. You can do the same with Gradient methods (you need to write fortran or C/C++ programs). If you want I can send you published paper about one case (from Fluent.Inc meeting). Best Regrads, zc |

I'd love a copy of that paper if at all possible.
How many fitness function evaluations do you make in a typical optimisation run and what are you optimising? What hardware are you using? |

Hi zc, I thank you for your help. Is it always possible for you to send me the published paper? I think of Matlab for a gradient method underconstrained...what do you think about that? Best Regards, Remy (Paris)

Hello Everyone seems to want that paper!! Anyway,I know at last two program that are supposed to perform optimization tasks with Fluent (or any kind of CAD, calculation program). I forgot the name of one but the second is called Frontier by Enginsoft try http://frontier.enginesoft.it
PS: Can i have the paper too ? tschump@hotmail.com |
