Hello,

I have a problem, I am trying to simulate the sludge drying (evaporation) process under ambient conditions. I am using multiphase models like E-E or VOF with species mixing phases:

- Phase 1: air + steam
- Phase 2: "dry mud" + moisture

I have a mass transfer mechanism at the interface that converts moisture to steam. The problem is that when steam is generated, the temperature field increases too much. I have tried with Lee's evaporation-condensation model, a heterogeneous reaction with Arrhenius kinetics, and even with the Constant Rate model. The result always the same, the temperature field begins to grow, and gives abnormal results. The underlying problem seems to be the steam generation itself (independent of the mechanism) .. Any idea how I can solve this?

Thanks

Pda. Without transfer mechanism an expected thermal field develops
