Hi,

the intent of this newsletter is to spread interesting news in mesh generation:

1. VKI course on unstructured grid generation 2. NUMIGRID 2000 conference 3. EWC special issue on mesh generation 4. Roundtable proceedings available online

You can find more information at

1. VKI course on unstructured grid generation

This year's edition of the von Karman Institute 31th Computational Fluid Dynamics lecture series will focus on grid generation and solution adaptive mesh algorithms for high Reynolds number Navier-Stokes simulation. The course will be held in Brussels, March 20-24, 2000.

The Lecture Course will address some of the key topics in mesh generation, with an emphasis on unstructured grids applied in computational fluid dynamics. Some of the key issues associated with the links to CAD, algorithms and data structures will be introduced. The latest developments in grid algorithms will be discussed for the generation of isotropic and anisotropic tetrahedral grids and the generation of unstructured hexahedral grids. There will also be a strong emphasis placed on grid quality and error estimation for finite element methods.

The web site of the course can be found at

2. NUMIGRID 2000 conference

The 7th International Conference on Numerical Grid Generation in Computational Field Simulations will be held at Chateau Whistler Resort, Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, September 25-28, 2000. The deadline for submitting abstracts is March 15, 2000.

3. EWC special issue on mesh generation

Engineering with Computers has published a special issue with selected papers from the Mesh Generation Roundtable and Conference 1998. See
