Determination of w'w' in a 2D Model

Does anyone know, when the Reynolds Stress Model is used in a 2-D case, how does FLUENT determine what w'w' should be??? What empirical relation is it using and where can I read about it???

i made myself the same question the first time i probed the RSM; i simulated the chanel flow and the axilsymmetric pipe flow with enhanced wall treatment and when i plot <w´w´> versus y-coordinate the results were very similar to the correlations obtained from DNS and are shown in fluidynamic textbooks. I know it is not the solution but at least it seems fluent is right
