When using the Gambit(ver2.1.6) to generate the grid for FUENT5.0/6.0, why I can not find the option of VELOCITY-INLET?
Could you explain WHY? |

if you have selected the solver properly, then the option is in the bottom of the list and you can not properly see becuase some part of the list may not be visible because of taskbar of computer at the bottom. (just guessing).

The velocity inlet at the bottom of the list , actually irritates me also just for the same reason that I have to put the task bar to autohide for it. This is irritating but couldn't help.

instead of auto hiding u can do it this way, just select any other boundary condition (say pressure inlet) and again click the boundary condition, this tym u will see that the velocity inlet is visible.

I have this problem too.is there any better way out? can we change the setting of the monitor? I really don't know how to deal with the simulated X-window system.

I agree with Rizwan and his method is sufficiently simple. Here I just want to add one point. When selecting the other TYPE of boudary condition, please try the lowest (or lower) one, then the VEOCITY-INLET will be visible. However, if you select the toppest one like AXIS, you might still not be able to find the VEOCITY-INLET option.
In summary, two steps: (1)try firstly the other boundary condition at "the lowest option" you could reach at current operation status; (2) switch to the VEOCITY-INLET which you are looking for. I think other techiques are not very neceesary. However, we have reason to request the Gambit company to improve this inconvenience and to make it natural from custom utilization viewpoint. Good luck, and thank you again, zxaar and Rizwan. |
