all users ,i have a problem
can you give me how to calculate the average residence time in the dpm file at the outlet of my reator i have followed the all steps of dpm best regards |

Laura,
As I understand you are asking for how to calculated mean residence time if you have dpm data at the outlet. 1. This is reported by the fluent at the outlet bc. 2. If its plane then, first report the dpm data at the a plane. You will find time in this which is residence time. get min and max residence time of the particles. divide this range in intervals of 1 secs or 5 secs. get frequency i.e. particles in that in each interval. get cumulative frequency fraction. multiply it to mean time of that interval. add all this and divide it by total number of particles. that's mean residence time. WOW! |
