Hallo friends,
I am currently doing a mini thesis on "Simulation of single ceramic particle - 2D". I am doing in Fluent 17.2. I have done using the following VOF model

1. Multiphase model (Air - primary phase, ceramic - secondary phase)

2. I have given velocity of a particle as 500 m/s, viscosity - 50 (constant), solidus temp - 2880, liquidous temp - 2980, thermal conductivity - 2, density - 3000, CP - 500, molecular weight - 341, reference temperature - 298

3. solution methods : Gradient - least square cell based, Pressure - presto, Momentum - second order upwind, Vol frac - Compressive, Energy - Second order upwind, Transient formulation - First order implicit.

4. I am using explicit model without implicit body force.

5. Phase Interaction - Surface tension force modeling - Continum surface force and wall adhesion, surface tension coefficient - 500 n/m

I have to track the simulation of single particle impact on the substrate and splat formation and its solidification. I have attached the image file of particle, i have no idea as why the particle is not splashing and solidifying? Please help me to resolve this issue. It will be great if anyone make quick response, as i can show any improvement in my thesis. Thanks in advance.
