Hi,
I am doing dynamic mesh using FLUENT, but always encounter the problem of 'Negative cell volume detected'. So what is simpliest way to solve this? Because my case is very simple. A rectangle car is moving in a tunnel with speed of 1m/s. (I have to use dynamic mesh). I am try all the three method 'layering, remeshing and smoothing', but none of them work. Mesh simply deformed and did not merge or split so that Negative cell volume occurred. May I ask what method is the simplist one and what parameter should I use?I have also tried to shorten to step time, but still of no use. Thanks a lot! Under the dynamic mesh tab, use the preview mesh motion to and figure out where exactly your mesh is failing during motion.
And for your case, I would suggest keep the car stationary and move a flow of 1 m/s over it --> no dynamic mesh (if what you are analysing is the external flow over the car) Else, Layering can be used only for a hex/quad mesh AND Remeshing can only be done on a tri/tet mesh. Need more details on what you're analysing to help you better. Regards Luke |
