Hi everyone,
Does anyone have any information - pictures, or experimental (not numerical) of the wake pattern formed for flow over a small cylinder? The Re range is ~ 1000-1400, thus far. The medium is air. I'd like to calibrate some simulations I'm currently running. Many thanks, mw... www.adthermtech.com/wordpress3 |

Anyone? Remember - experimental (not numerical).
I've looked in "M Van Dyke - AN ALBUM OF FLUID MOTION", but this doesn't seem to cover this range. mw... www.adthermtech.com/wordpress3 |

Fig. 76, p. 52, Visualized Flow, compiled by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineering, Pergamon Press, 1988.
Re = 1240. The picture is time-averaged, so the wake looks symmetric. You might also take a look at p. 7 of A Gallery of Fluid Motion, edited by M. Smimy, K. S. Breuer, L. G. Leal and P. H. Steen. published by Cambridge University Press, 2003. Again, not exactly what you want but might contain some useful leads. |

Many thanks 'odt' for those references.
The next question would to ask if someone could be so very kind as to e-mail a copy of this information to me at <momentumwaves@gmail.com>, or <auberydes@gmail.com>. I currently have no direct access to a good university reference library . Many thanks, mw... www.adthermtech.com/wordpress3 |

What about Zdravkovich, Flow around circular cylinders? Unfortunately I don't have it at hand right now to check, but it should be there.
